This morning was not as cold as yesterday, and I didn’t have to defrost my windows! No snowballs today! I left the apartment a little early, and since I have to work today, and Brett has the day off, I decided to treat myself with a Skinny Vanilla Latte from Starbucks! Yum!
My First Wedding Project
Ok, so Brett and I have been engaged for 5 months already, and we have accomplished a lot so far! We found our wedding venue, at the South Seas Island Resort and I have picked out my wedding dress, which I love! Those are two really big accomplishments so far! But now it is time for the actual planning and projects to kick in.
Since July 30th (Our engagement) I have been constantly researching online all types of wedding projects and supplies and have found some really great sites. (I will have to write a blog just to list all my favorite sites! I’ll start working on that for all you brides to be out there! :))
The first project we have to start is the Save-the-Date cards. I have gone back and forth about whether or not I want to make them myself, or order them. I had decided to try to create my own after I found this gorgeous template on Weddingchicks.com , which is a great site for DIY ideas and downloads.
I loved the black and white and the calendar with the heart! I decided to create my own template, so that I would be able to print it at home! It was really easy to recreate, and I did it all in Microsoft word! This is what I came up with:
I love the way it turned out, and it looks almost exactly like the original! I was ready to start the project and started making a list of all the supplies I needed…. nice cream paper, computer ink, a paper cutter to create the cards in the correct size and with straight edges, envelopes, stamps, labels, and anything else I may have needed that I can’t even think about now! That’s a lot of supplies!
It was the day that I had decided I would make it out to the craft store that Brett and I received a Save-the-Date card from one of Brett’s really good friends, Elizabeth. It was so nice, and in postcard form! I thought it was genius, because you don’t have to worry about purchasing envelopes which is an added expense. Her Save-the-Date card looked professionally done, and I saw the website where she purchased it on the back and immediately logged on the the website to take a look. Weddingpaperdivas.com = Amazing!
So I played with the website for a majority of the day, actually, and came up with these Save-the-Date Cards which I love! So I will leave it up to you, which one is your favorite?
I can’t decide! I love different components of each one. I need help! So, I will wait for some responses before I order! Thanks for your help!
