2011 is going to be such an amazing year, I can tell already! We have so much planned for this year it is going to fly! Some of the things that we get to experience (and you get to read about) are:
- Gasparilla Weekend in Tampa
- Bridal Shows
- A Johnston Family Reunion
- Wedding Planning of course
- Spring Break on Ana Maria Island
- A Georgia Road Trip to see my Cousins
- More Wedding Panning
- Bachelorette Party
- and the best event….. OUR WEDDING!
It is going to be an exciting year of blogging, too, I can tell ya that! 😉
We started off the new year with a bang! We attended the Universal City Walk New Year’s Eve Party, where Bret Michaels performed and counted down the new year!
It was so much fun! We got into all the clubs and got to listen to all types of live music! Our favorite club is Red Coconut Club! We love it because there is a live band that plays the best music! From Michael Jackson to the Black Eyed Peas, there is always something playing that you can groove too! The guitarist even came off the stage to say hello to us and I snapped this awesome pic:
We had such a blast eating all the delicious food! There was so much food! A million of the same huge buffet with items such as, salad, cheese and crackers, jalapeño poppers, chicken wellington, pasta, and freshly carved meats was located all around city walk. Then, at every club/restaurant, there would be specialty items, like a wing bar and a huge pit of jambalaya! And don’t get me started on the dessert table! I think we pretty much ate the entire time!
That isn’t even the whole table! It was too large to even capture!! Oh, and Brett’s favorite wasn’t even on the table…it was in a freezer: Snickers Ice Cream! We definitely started the New Year off right, and had such a great time!
First Weekend in the New Year
The next morning we were off to Tampa again to celebrate little Nathan’s 2nd birthday! Good thing we ate so much the night before, we weren’t feeling too bad in the morning! I was really excited to pack for this trip actually, because of one of my Christmas gifts from Brett’s parents, it was the best gift ever!
It holds so much stuff! Finally I don’t have to decide between my hair straightener and my curling iron! I can bring both!! I was using my old high school backpack for short weekend trips before, and this is the perfect gift!
We got to Tampa in time for a late lunch/early dinner at a delicious place called Guppy’s on Indian Rocks Beach.
I couldn’t decide on what sandwich to get, so I decided to get “The Slip and Slider” which is a Mini Trio Sampler of the Salmon Burger, Blue Crab Burger and Tuna Melt, served on Toasted Petite Buns, with fries and cole slaw. It was amazing!
Sunday morning we all went to the Marriott on Clearwater Beach for breakfast to celebrate Nathan’s birthday! I love their breakfast because not many buffets offer bagels with lox! It is one of my favorite breakfasts! Because I am still new to blogging, I pretty much scarfed it down before I could take a picture of it so i will next time! Sorry!
Football pretty much took over the remainder of the day, and it paid off, because Brett won our Fantasy Football League! Yay!!! It was a good end to the night!
