This past weekend was a wedding to-do list! My wedding dress finally came in and it was time to pick it up and try it on again! I was so excited to see what it looked like fresh and new out of the bag! We were also going to check out some bridesmaids dresses and shop around for some arts and crafts for the wedding invitations and other stationary projects that we need to get for the day of the wedding.
I drove home Friday night, so we could get an early start on Saturday. I woke up and headed to the gym for my favorite homecoming cardio kickboxing class!
After showering and getting ready, my mom and I headed to the mall for some wedding shoe shopping. We were trying to find some really beautiful sandals for the wedding, since it is outside, and I want to be comfortable. Unfortunately, sandals aren’t quite in season yet, so we have to wait a few months for the good ones to come out.
We decided to get a pedicure instead!
After shopping around at the mall, my Mom and I headed over to Jason’s Deli for a delicious salad from their salad bar!
I sometimes rush into eating when I am hungry and the food in front of me looks so delicious, so I forgot to snap a picture of my humongous salad, and side of roasted red pepper hummus! Oops!
After stopping off a several craft stores and trying to decided how I want to do my invitations and visualizing how I wanted the stationary look for the wedding, we headed home and started crafting right away!
My Mom definitely still has the artist in her, she is a perfectionist when it comes to arts and crafts, and I am so glad for that!
I was pretty tired after our exciting day, but I really wanted to get together with some of my good friends, old college roommates, and bridesmaids, Lauren and Christie. We decided to go to Delray, which is the cutest little place packed with tons of restaurants, pubs, and nightclubs. We started off at the Blue Anchor, which is known for being haunted! Ahh!
It was so great to catch up with the girls! It felt like old times, when we were in college! I miss it!
We stayed light and ordered a couple appetizers, which ended up filling us up pretty good! We got baked brie, cheese and crackers, and mussels. Yum!
After dinner, we weren’t quite ready to leave so we walked down the street a little until something caught our eye. Then, the Colony Hotel appeared.
There was live music coming from the outside, like a Spanish guitar or something, and it drew us in immediately. It was such a cute little hotel and was so open inside. We got a few glasses of wine at the bar and hung out at one of the tables inside, just talking some more and listening to the music.
The colors of the inside of the hotel were very bright and reminded us of Key West. Even the bathroom was colorful!
The night was getting late, and we decided to leave the hotel at around 10pm, but we weren’t ready for the night to end yet! I was having too much fun to go home, so I decided to stay the night at Christie’s, to hang out more, watch movies, and drink more wine!
It was a late night, but I am so glad I got to spend time with them, like old times!!
The next morning, I woke up pretty early to head home and start working on more crafts with mommy, and then head out to get my wedding dress!
The dress was even more beautiful than I remembered! I loved trying it on again and realizing that this is MY dress and that I am the first person to ever wear it! I didn’t want to take it off! I can’t wait to wear it again, it was perfect! I also had my maid of honor, Lauren, try on some bridesmaids dresses. We found some that we really liked, but I am not 100% sure yet. I didn’t want to post them just yet, in case we choose one of them, but I will post the runner up once I have made a decision. The only thing that made us think that we may choose one of these, is because we went to David’s Bridal after to see some other styles, and just kept thinking of our favorite Alfred Angelo dress! That could be a sign!
After what felt like another really long and adventurous day, Mom and I were starving! It was about 5:30 when we were heading back home, and we decided to meet my dad at a Sushi buffet! The Sushi was amazing!
I realized afterwards that I had to drive back to Orlando still, and with a full belly, that was going to be hard!
I made it home, and slept really good! The weekend flew by, and we got a lot done, but there is still so much to do. I left my Mom with an invitation project, which she gladly accepted. I was going to work on printing the invitations up in Orlando, and on my next trip down it will be to assemble! Until then, there is much work to do! Hope you had a great, and productive, weekend too!
