Adjusting My Diet and Exercise Routine… Again!

Now that my body is changing and I know I need to be more conscious of my eating habits and workout routine, I need to plan my days accordingly and prepare ahead of time.

After our last doctor’s appointment and reading several pregnancy health magazines, I have learned that it is best to take in 6-8  smaller meals throughout the day. This week I planned my snacks and small meals ahead of time so that it would be easier to pack my lunches.

Breakfast/Snack #1:
Decaf Instant Coffee, Cinnamon Raisin Bagel Thin with Weight Watchers Reduced Fat Cream Cheese and a side of fresh fruit.

Snack #2:
One Serving of Pretzels and Sliced Fresh Apple (No pic, but you can imagine…)

Snack #3:
Strawberry Cottage Cheese Doubles

Lunch/Snack #4:
Small Chicken and Spinach wrap with Dijon Mustard and a side of fresh fruit

Lunch

Snack #5:
Roasted Pine Nut Hummus, Baby Carrots, and Celery

Snack #6: (And I think my favorite!)
Assorted Dried Fruit (Pineapple, Cranberries, and Apricots)

Dinner:
Homemade Chicken Pot Pie (Recipe to Come)

I am also going to get up early in the morning to complete my workouts, because I have noticed that I am extremely tired now after long days at work, and mostly just want to come home and relax after.

Also, with all of the house things going on, I will need my afternoons and evenings open to meet with inspectors and contractors and the like, so it would be best to have a completed workout in the morning.

For my workouts, I purchased a few DVDs online for prenatal workouts that I am excited to try. These are mostly weight training, so I am planning on alternating these videos with some cardio on the treadmill in the AMs.

I also invested in a set of dumbbells so I can workout at home.

This morning I tried Summer Sander’s Prenatal Workout for your First Trimester. It was actually pretty hard and I started sweating right away during the warm-up. There was a lot of great glut work and shoulder exercises, which was great and challenging.

Hopefully I’ll feel the workout tomorrow!

On the house front… we had the Home Inspection this evening, and everything is in great condition! This is great news, because it is now official that we found our home!

Next step is to quote out contractors for the needed renovations, but that will have to wait until after Thanksgiving!

We can’t wait!
