Rock-a-bye baby, on the tree top…
I gotta start brushing up on my nursery rhymes with Rylee coming so soon! Speaking of nursery rhymes, we finished Rylee’s Nursery!
I went with a bird and birdhouse, tree branch theme in pink and green that matched with her bedding from the Penelope collection at Pottery Barn Kids.
After painting the room with the help of Brett and his mom (I unfortunately could not take part because of the fumes :)) we were finally able to set everything up!
We had everything in a holding pattern in the guest room, and in my nesting stage, I just could not wait to get everything organized!
Once the room was painted we were able to build the crib and dresser which came out great! From there I added decals, curtains (made by Brett’s Mom to match the gingham sheets) and frames to the wall.
I even crafted a few projects to personalize the nursery.
Debi, Brett’s Mom, and I were in JoAnne fabrics picking out some fabric for the curtains, and we came across some wooden birdhouses for sale! I was so excited and had a vision for a project!
I purchased 2 birdhouses, some paint to match Rylee’s bedding and some pretty scrap book paper. I applied the scrapbook paper to different parts of the birdhouses with Elmer’s glue to add a pattern and then painted the rest.
It was a fun little project to add to the theme of the room and I enjoyed doing it!
I also purchased two white frames from Target and with the extra paint and scrap book paper I created the art on the wall above the dresser.
Now that the room is as ready as it is going to be for Rylee’s arrival, we are so ready to bring her home!
