What a whirlwind of a weekend! Our Memorial Day weekend was spent traveling for the first time with newborn, Rylee, to Miami, Florida, to celebrate one of my best friend’s wedding.
We had such an amazing time, but since I was a bridesmaid in the wedding and was traveling for the first time with our little one, the weekend was quite busy and I didn’t have much time to capture many photos of the weekend.
First I have to say thank you to Grandma Meyers, who we recruited to come along with us and help with Baby Rylee while Brett and I were involved in all the festivities. It was such a great help to have her and we both really got to enjoy ourselves with all of our old friends for the first time in a while!
We checked into the Hilton Doubletree right on Biscayne Bay in Miami on Friday where we settled in and got ready for the rehearsal dinner.
The rehearsal dinner was at a cute little restaurant called Dolores Lolita Restaurant. We had our own private area set up in a garden-like balcony setting.
After mingling and eating dinner, which was excellent, I had the privilege if giving a toast to the happy couple!
I had the time to write something special, in the wee hours of the nights while I was nursing Rylee, and had the time to memorize, and it went perfectly. I love speaking in front of an audience, but I always get a little nervous! Good thing I was able to deliver and got a bit of laughter and applause, which is always nice!
After the dinner, we weren’t ready to say goodbye, and decided to walk over to Blue Martini for a little bit of drinks and dancing.
The night carried on, but Brett and I had to call it a bit early to head back to the hotel and take care of Rylee.
The next morning was the big day! After taking care of little Ryles, and setting up my mom and Brett with everything they needed in the room, I headed down to the Key Largo room to get ready for the big day with the other girls.
Once everyone was ready and we opened our gifts from Loreyn (our gorgeous earrings that matched perfectly) we headed out to take a few pictures and load up on the Party Bus to take us to the church.
Although we are drinking water here… there was some celebratory champagne on board as well!
The wedding was beautiful (photo above courtesy of our good photographer friend Paul) and I must admit I had to choke back a few tears.
After the ceremony, we headed back to the hotel to take more photos near the marina.
We were so excited that it was such a beautiful day and the rain that was forecasted left us alone!
After photos, Loreyn and Thomas took a few more of themselves, while the rest of the party was able to meet up with some of our other friends attending the wedding at a restaurant in the hotel before the cocktail hour began.
The cocktail hour was a blast and was held outside on the terrace of the ballroom. The food was amazing and once again, we were enjoying the weather and thankful there was no rain!
It was time to get the party started and we headed into the ballroom for our grand entrance.
And that is where the photos stopped because we were on the dance floor all night! The music was great and we had so much fun!
I am so happy for Thomas and Loreyn! Their wedding was so beautiful and I couldn’t have witnessed a more perfect couple tying the knot!
