I am sure by now that you have heard about Pole Dancing making its entrance into the fitness world. When I heard this, I knew it was something that I had to try out.
When Vixen Fitness opened up near my old apartment, I made sure to try out a few classes the week of opening to see what it was all about.
They offered a discount when they opened up for a beginner pole class and a few girls from work and I decided to give it a try. I was hooked right away!
I think it was the fact that I spent an hour dancing to the best music, climbing up and spinning around a pole – it felt like we were there for 10 minutes! The class didn’t even feel like we were working out, but the next day I could barely open the bathroom door at work. Talk about an upper body workout!
I loved the class so much that I decided to join the gym exclusively!
The pole dancing classes were definitely challenging for me because they were so different than anything I had ever done before. Plus, once you get into the more advanced classes, flipping upside down and doing tricks becomes a little frightening and gives you a bit of an adrenaline rush!
I eventually learned some pretty neat tricks!
Vixen Fitness is a women-only gym that also offers a variety of cardio and weight classes like Fab Abs & Bodacious Butts, Sexy Lap Dance, Cardio Kickboxing, and Flexy Sexy. It also had an spin studio and Aerial Silks and Lyra classes as well. You could train for the circus there!
And to top it all off they had a wine bar where they hosted Ladies Night Happy Hour!
Vixen Fitness is a great place to join if you are ready to add another level of fitness into your workout routine. I loved going back to my dancing roots and learning choreography in a non-competitive or intimidating atmosphere. Having fun while getting an amazing workout is ALWAYS a good day at the gym!
