This weekend, I fell even more in love with my little town than ever.
I’ve already raved about the wonderful trail and the active people who are always running, cycling or walking their dogs, and the weekly farmer’s market that ends up being more like a community event with great food vendors and live music.
But our experiences this past weekend at our first downtown festival has got me having flash-forwards of all of the amazing times we are going to experience here as a family!
October is already one of my favorite months, I love when the weather starts to change, the celebration of Halloween, seeing the colors of bright orange pumpkins for sale and picking out the perfect one to carve. And with the coming of the Fall season, it has brought out a huge crowd downtown for the weekly farmer’s market and the 2013 Music Fest.
We spent Saturday afternoon at the farmer’s market and enjoyed our usual Lemonade as we visited all of the vendor tents before heading to breakfast at Sweet Traditions French Bakery.
After heading home for a re-charge, we headed back out to Downtown Winter Garden for the 2013 Music Fest.
We were so excited about the beautiful weather, so we came to the event fully prepared. With our fold-out chairs, beverages and snacks, and our tablet – to watch the UCF game of course.
We found the perfect spot! Right on the trail, with a great view of the stage to our left. And there was even an electrical outlet right to Brett’s left where we plugged in the tablet so we could watch the game. It was a perfect location and I could see ourselves claiming the spot for future events.
Winston loved seeing all of the people walk by and having a comfortable seat in the grass when we got tired. He was really good!
This experience made me so happy and thankful to have found such a family friendly place to call home. I grew up in a small town myself and loved how the community always came together for the holidays and special events. For a while, when Brett and I lived in the heart of Orlando, I would always wonder how little Rylee would grow up in such a busy city with tons of tourists around. This town makes me so excited about the experiences we are going to have as a family here and so excited for us to get more involved in the community.
Loving where you live is such a blessing in disguise. Without even realizing it, I think our family is so happy knowing that there is always something exciting going on downtown, even if it is just the farmer’s market, and that we are lucky enough to be able to walk there. Sometimes life can feel redundant, but when you live in a wonderful community with a growing family, there is always something to look forward to.
Make sure to appreciate your surroundings and love where you live. It is truly and amazing feeling.
