Fun and Unique Anniversary Celebration

It is crazy to think how fast time flies. Yesterday marked Brett and I’s 2nd Wedding Anniversary!

I still remember saying our wedding vows like it was yesterday. 0285

Clearly one of the happiest days of my life, as you can see in this picture:

I was talking to my mom about my surprise plans for Brett on the phone, and we both agreed that time has gone by so fast it is hard to comprehend that so much has happened in only 2 years! With the addition of our little one, the pregnancy, the birth and now that she’s 6 months already, it is crazy!

Our anniversary started off so special, early in the morning before I even left for work.

Since I had dinner plans for our anniversary, Brett woke up early in the morning to cook me breakfast.

He knows I love pancakes, and don’t get to have them much, so he made banana nut pancakes with fresh coffee for me! And had my card at my seat ready for me to open.

It was such a great morning surprise!

Going to work and being so excited for our dinner plans made me so anxious all day.

I was so excited about what I had planned for us, and it was a complete secret for Brett. I planned a Traveling Dinner Date, where we visit several of our favorite restaurants for different components of the meal. So we travel from one place for cocktails, to another for appetizers, a different one for dinner and finally dessert! I also chose restaurants that had special meaning for us, so it was extra special.

The day flew by and I headed home to Brett who was trying to figure out the Traveling Dinner Date Road Map I left him before I went to work!

The images were clues to hint at what the restaurant was, and the QR code (which Brett totally had no clue about) linked to directions to each of the restaurants. It was so fun to see him trying to figure out where we were going to next!

We started off with cocktails, and my original plan was to go to Seasons52, where Brett proposed to me!

Unfortunately, it was surprisingly packed on a Wednesday night, so we weren’t able to enjoy the glass of wine I wanted to, that became one of our favorite kinds.

Good thing we were in an area of town with tons of options, so we strolled over to a wine bar right next store and had a glass of wine that was actually very similar to our Seasons52 favorite!

We really enjoyed the wine, and I knew I was not going to remember the name of it, so the server let me take a picture of it.

Villa Wolf is about all I can pronounce. But it was delicious!

Next was appetizers, and I think Brett’s favorite surprise of the night. We headed to Bonefish Grill for the $5 Bang Bang Shrimp special! It just so happened that Wednesday night is when they have the special and we have always wanted to go, but never have. The Bang Bang Shrimp is so amazing, and I could have ordered 5 more plates of it!

I had to feed the little munchkin at this stop, so unfortunately no good photos were taken here.

Our next stop was one of the most fun restaurants in the area, Rocco’s Tacos.

We love the atmosphere with the lively decor, lakeside view and of course Mexican cuisine!

We decided to get a trio of tacos from the menu to try. They have a section for just tacos that are only about $3 each, so it was fun to choose a combination from the list. And it was the perfect amount of food for such an indulgent night.

We enjoyed them along with the best raspberry mojito I have ever had!

The tacos were so delicious. Our favorite we agreed was the shredded pork. So flavorful!

And for the finale, what better than chocolate fondue at The Melting Pot?

Not only is The Melting Pot delicious and one of our favorite restaurants, but it was the location Brett took me to for our very first date!

After finishing up as much as we could of our dessert platter and Irish coffees, we lugged our full tummies back home to digest and we were so pooped from our adventure, we did so in the comforts of our warm bed.

This Traveling Dinner idea was so much fun. We tried some of our favorite foods all in one night and they were so yummy! Brett also said that this was such a great idea for a special event, because it made the night and the celebration feel like it lasted so much longer than a normal dinner date. I’m so happy that it turned out great and I can’t wait to plan my next Traveling dinner Date!

That wine is a popular German Rhine wine. A little on the sweet side.
