Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all had a great celebration ringing in the new year!
Right about now, I am sure many of you are starting off the week strong with your New Year’s Resolutions. Whatever those resolutions may be this year, let’s all try our best to carry them throughout all of 2014, k? I know that I have been guilty of losing track of my resolutions half way through in the past.
But this year, I have made a fitness resolution that I am determined to accomplish and one that will be sure to last the whole year through.
I have always wanted to compete in one race a month for a whole year, so this is not only a fitness resolution for me, but it is a bucket list check off as well. (I’ve been really into creating, and checking off, my bucket list lately!)
I love the adrenaline and sense of accomplishment I get from competing in races and it is a great way to keep me motivated to train. Plus, I am such a routine/schedule person, so I love the ability to follow a training plan and know exactly what my week at the gym is going to look like.
Not only do I love to challenge myself, and plan to this year in my running challenge, but I am also on a quest for some of the most fun, unique and inspiring races that are out there now!
I have been using the site RunningintheUSA.com to search for races and it is amazing! I am pretty sure they have the details for every single race going on for the year and in any state!
Right now, I have noticed that many races have not been set yet for 2014, so I want to wait a little longer until more races are scheduled to finalize my calendar, but I have a great start!
Here is just a glimpse at what my year of running is going to look like:
January – The Color Run the 2014 Kaleidoscope Tour – Clearwater
Excited to start off 2014 with this one! My friend Loreyn and I have been wanting to compete in one of these since we first heard of them, so it is going to be a great time!
