This month’s race is coming up to start off my 2014 Running Challenge of completing one race every month this year!
I have been wanting to participate in The Color Run, also known as The Happiest 5k on the Planet, since I first heard of it a few years ago and this year they have introduced the Kaleidoscope Tour. With even more photo-ops and attractions throughout the course and a happiness filled Finish Festival, this year’s tour is going to be filled with so much fun and entertainment! It is sure to be one of the more fun races I have ever competed in.
And what a great way to get people excited to get fit and active! This race focuses more on the fun of being active and is an un-timed 5k. So you don’t have to worry about what minute mile you run. The splashes of color at every kilometer are sure to distract you from feeling any kind of stress about finishing in a timely manner. Why would you want the fun to end that quickly anyways! 😉
I think that this race is not only great for new runners but also experienced runners. For beginners, this is such a great first race to get you started. Sometimes other races can feel intimidating and make you feel like you have to run fast to beat your time or reach a goal. For experienced runners, other runs that test your endurance and strength, while a great achievement and challenge for you, can get mundane. This race is perfect for sparking a new energy in you for racing.
And another unique fact about this race is that you practically cross the finish line as a work of art! Yes, the one rule to follow when attending, is that you must wear white. Then, all throughout the race, you are becoming a painted, colorful masterpiece!
And check out all the swag you get just for registering for the race!
Everyone there is sure to be a colorful and happy bunch!
