This past weekend I traveled down to South Florida for my Friend Amanda’s Bridal Shower. It also just so happened to be a weekend that my Aunt Susan was in Florida for a vacation to celebrate her recent retirement.
Rylee and I were the only ones taking the trip this time. Brett had to stay home because he picked up a shift at work on Saturday. We missed him but it was a quick weekend.
I met Amanda through my good friend Nicole, one of my bridesmaids, and I instantly fell in love with her. We like to say that she stole me from Nicole since she lives all the way in L.A. now!
My good friend Loreyn took the trip down with me and when we arrived, we were so excited to see Amanda and meet everyone.
Loreyn, Rylee and I made our rounds, introducing ourselves to Amanda’s family and to all of her gorgeous girlfriends. Everyone was super nice and I can’t wait to see everyone again at the wedding!
Then lunch was served and it was a delicious and healthy spread.
We all enjoyed tomatoes and mozzarella, fruit salad, curry chicken salad and grilled asparagus. Homemade champagne cookies did make an appearance as well. Yum!
Then it was time to watch the bride-to-be open her gifts!
Although I wanted to stay and mingle with all the ladies, Rylee was getting a bit testy and needed her nap. But there was so much going on that she wouldn’t lay down, and the car ride home was the perfect solution. She is a sucker for a car ride!
We said our goodbyes and were excited to reunite again at the wedding in April.
I got to spend some quality time with the family that night, ate some of Momma’s homemade meatballs and spaghetti and watched The Great Gatsby.
Then the next morning, my Aunt Susan and Uncle Dave came over to enjoy lunch with us, meet Rylee and to celebrate her retirement.
We put out a nice healthy spread of cold cuts, a variety of breads, tuna salad and fresh fruits.
After catching up and enjoying lunch, Rylee and I had to get back on the road and home to Daddy B.
It was a short, but really great and family and friend filled weekend. Those are always the best kinds of weekends!
