That’s right, you read correctly. Homemade tortillas on a weeknight!
I came across the recipe for these from the blog 100DaysofRealFood.com and it looked so easy to do. Especially because the ingredients list was short and sweet.

Plus, I love getting use out of my KitchenAid mixer and wanted to break in the ‘ol dough hook!
It is definitely a lot of prep work, but it’s not hard. And the recipe makes 12 tortillas, so we have plenty for our next taco night and we don’t need to go through the whole process again.
Which is great because they came out so good and I am already looking forward to having them again!
They were much lighter than we thought they would be, too!
We filled our homemade whole wheat tortillas with seasoned steak and all the taco fixin’s. My favorite ingredient is the Cholula for a little kick!
I actually had a lot of fun making the tortillas and it felt great to know that we were eating them fresh and knew exactly what was in them – no preservatives or anything like that. I also love using the KitchenAid mixer and felt like I was getting some great culinary experience during the whole process, which was fun!
We put the leftovers in the freezer for next time. I am thinking we might keep this Taco Tuesday thing going!
What are some items that you enjoy making that take a lot of work, but are so worth it?
