This month’s race is the Zimmerman Kiser Sutcliffe Winter Park Road Race 10k. It is a great local race that supports the Meridian Club of Winter Park’s Scholarship Fund, which anually awards graduating seniors from four area schools with college scholarships. And this year, they are going the extra mile with the goal of collecting 30,000 cans of food to donate to those in need in the community.
It is my first 10k of the year – and in a while – so I am really looking forward to it!
More than anything, I am looking forward to running this course. I have heard that the race course is just beautiful. It takes place in Winter Park, FL which is a beautiful neighborhood and runs all along a few different lakes in the area.
One of the girls from my office has actually ran this race many times before and said it is her absolute favorite race in Orlando.
In fact, I am planning to run the race with her AND another one of the ladies from work. We have been talking about running a race together for the longest time, so we are really looking forward to this weekend!
We are going to enjoy the scenery of this race, each other’s company and donate to a great cause all while getting in our daily exercise.
