I am very excited to announce that I was nominated for the Liebster Award!
What is the Liebster Award you ask? It is an award that has become quite well-known in the blogging community that helps blogs with great content but lower numbers of followers to get their names out there and pay it forward to some of their favorite bloggers. It is awarded by one blogger to another along with a series of questions to answer so your followers can get to know you better.
I was honored that Elizabeth from Always a Jersey Girl at Heart would think of me for a nomination of the Liebster Award. Thank you Elizabeth!
Of course I thought this was a great opportunity and couldn’t wait to answer Elizabeth’s questions!
Here are the questions that Elizabeth had for me, and my answers:
I have always loved writing since I was a little kid. I would always read my stories in front of the class and everyone always seemed to enjoy them. I thought for sure that I would follow in my father’s footsteps and become a writer. As I grew up, I found other interests that held my attention and writing wasn’t at the forefront anymore. I have always had a passion for writing, so when I first started blogging it was the perfect outlet for me to write by thoughts and bring out my creative side again.
I am still learning so much about blogging everyday. In the near future, I hope to continue learning, growing and perfecting my blog and meeting other wonderful bloggers in the community. Farther down the road, I would love to see my blog continue to grow and reach, inspire, motivate and teach many more readers out there by sharing my personal learning experiences.
So far, my favorite book is The Hunger Games. I know that sounds generic and I am… well, I am not going to mention my age here, but I am a sucker for a bad-ass heroine like Katniss. Ever since I finished the trilogy, I haven’t found another book that made me so anxious to turn a page like The Hunger Games Trilogy did.
Being a Florida girl, I can say that we don’t get to experience many seasons. But I obviously do not like the cold. So winter is out. My favorite season is probably a toss up between Spring and Summer. Basically any day I can spend at the beach or pool is my favorite season.
I love spending time with my family. Especially when we can find things to do to stay active together. My favorite thing to do right now is to take a walk into town on the trail. We get to bring Winston along too, and Ry loves to watch him walking as we stroll her.
This one is easy. The moment I became a mother was a moment I will never forget. I am sure that all mothers will say that, but I will never forget when I held Ry in my arms for the first time and she looked up at me. It was a moment of realization that I created something beautiful and that she was mine. I’ll never forget it.
In 5 years, I see myself as a mother of 2, continuing to work full-time and pretty much being super mom. Staying fit, going to dance practice, soccer games and who knows what! 10 years from now, I would still only have 2 kids, but a dream of mine would be to work from home, focus on my blog more and become a full-time blogger.
This is a tough one! Although I loved San Francisco and Napa Valley, my trip across the ocean to the motherland, Ireland, is the most beautiful place I have ever been. It’s the only international trip I have taken and the nature and history there is so amazing, I just loved every moment of it.
If I could have a meal with one person from history, it would probably be Eleanor Roosevelt. To be completely honest, I am not too big on history, but I would love to meet and converse with someone who has made such a difference in people’s lives and fought hard for what she believed in. For some reason, I imagine that we would be enjoying an afternoon tea with some dainty finger foods.
Oh gosh. How do I choose between Bradley Cooper, Liam Helmsworth, Channing Tatum and Sam Worthington? Can I just have them all??
This is a two-part answer and they go hand in hand. I love having a place where I can bring out my creative side and spend time for me enjoying a passion of mine that I have had for years. And in doing something I love, I am able to reach others through my personal experiences. There is no better feeling as blogger when you receive a comment from a reader about how much you have helped them or inspired them. These are my favorite things about having a blog.
Now it’s time for me to pay it forward! Here are my nominees for the Liebster Award!
Diana at So Small So Strong
Lauren at Fun, Fit & Fabulous
Lucy at Lucy On The Lookout
Joelle at On a Pink Typewriter
Tim and Dory Doyle from The Doyle Dispatch
And my questions for you to answer are:
- How long have you been blogging and why did you start?
- What is your favorite kind of workout?
- If you could go anywhere on earth for a vacation, where would you go?
- What is your favorite song to run to?
- What was the last movie you saw in theaters? Did you like it?
- What is your favorite healthy recipe?
- What is one of your blogging goals for 2014?
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years?
- If you could choose one life lesson to tell your children one day, what would it be?
- Who’s side are you on, Peeta’s or Gale’s? Why?
- What is your favorite thing about having a blog?
Now it’s time for you to spread the word to 3-5 of your favorite bloggers with 500 followers or less and nominate them for the Liebster Award.
I’m looking forward to reading your answers and seeing who you nominate!
There are many variations of the rules that I have found out there, so as long as you pay it forward and keep this awesome award going, you should be fine! For some variations of the rules and to learn more, check out this post on WordingWell.com that I found very helpful.
