Memorial Day Beach Weekend

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! I had a blast seeing Brett’s family and a group of my girlfriends from high school all in the same weekend. I had a lot on the agenda and I am actually still working on getting back into the groove of my normal schedule!

Friday night Brett, Rylee, Winston and I headed over to the Tampa area to visit his parents and celebrate his mom’s birthday and a belated Mother’s Day. When we got there we relaxed and caught up with the family. In the morning we were going to be heading to the beach!

Saturday – Beach Day

Although a bit overcast in the morning, it was the perfect day to take Ry because it wasn’t too hot.

She loved playing in the sand!

Or should I say eating the sand?

She did take a couple bites of the mud Brett made her and ohh you do not want to know the mess that caused later that day! 😉

She also really loved the water! And now that she’s gotten a little more used to her (sea) legs (haha!) she loved taking walks down to the beach with all of us and walking in the water.

The day at the beach tired little Rylee out and she ended up sleeping for an hour and a half while the rest of us relaxed and caught some rays!

We all packed up and left once she woke up so that we could rest and get ready for the amazing dinner we had planned for Brett’s Mom, Debi. It worked out perfectly because it started to get so busy at the beach and the clouds cleared up so the sun was getting too hot for little bubs.

Saturday Night – Debi’s Birthday/ Belated Mother’s Day Dinner

For dinner, we took Brett’s parents out to Chart House Restaurant.

It’s such a wonderful restaurant with amazing food and a gorgeous view.

I actually took my mom there on her birthday one year as well! It is such a special occasion type place.

I started off with a delicious chopped salad. It was light and flavorful and I gobbled it up. Rylee loved the sweet potato frizzles on top. Who wouldn’t!

For my entree I got the salmon that came with Asian green beans and fried rice. The lemony sauce that was served on top was amazing!

Brett and his dad, Danny, also got the green beans as their sides and we all could not stop raving about them. They were cooked perfectly and the Asian flavor was just scrumptious!

We also pre-ordered their baked to order chocolate molten cake for the table to share along with the complimentary birthday celebration mocha, coffee ice cream cake.

The birthday girl’s cake was delicious, but the molten cake definitely stole the show.

And when it was time to go, we had to have a picture taken in front of the water!

The hostess was so sweet and eager to snap a photo of us! She said that is her favorite part of the job. It was really sweet!

Saturday Night – Girls Night!

From there, we were close to where my friends were staying, so Brett dropped me off with them.

We went to an awesome restaurant with a very eclectic menu right on the water calls Jackson’s.

It turns into a club at night with multiple rooms of different styles of music.

And stilt walkers!

We had a blast dancing the night away and I did not want it to end!

These girls are too much fun! I miss them!

The next day we had plans to go to the beach, though, and I was super excited to see St. Pete beach this time.

We hung out at this really cute, really chill hotel called the Postcard Inn. They had live music, pools, and a cute tiki bar with a deck that goes right up to the beach.

It was another gorgeous day and we were loving going back and forth from the beach to our tent set up to the tiki bar.

The day went by way too fast!!

We didn’t get home until around 8:00pm!

And this is what we all looked like afterwards:

It was definitely a great night and day out with the girls and we were exhausted afterwards!

I was sad to leave the girls, but was also looking forward to getting back to my family and see little Rylee. We left Monday afternoon at Rylee’s nap time to get back home and settle in before getting back into the groove of real life.

I totally wish I had more time with all the girls and on the beach, now that we are back home in central Florida. I had such a wonderful weekend! One I won’t forget for a long time!

    I loved your post.
It looks like you had a lot of fun – even met a stilt walker.
The Postcard Inn looks like a great place to stay right on the beach. I’ll have to remember it.
You look fabulous by the way.
