FLBlogCon 14 was this past weekend and I had such a blast learning new things and hanging with other amazing bloggers, most of them local, which is awesome!
The conference started off bright and early with the opening keynote at 9 am. Coffee was provided by Barnies (Thank you Barnies of Winter Park!!) and was much needed!
Bess opened up for the Keynote speaker who was the entertaining Ted Murphy from IZEA, a marketplace that connects brands with bloggers for social sponsorships.
Next, a few blogger friends and I headed over to the Professional Looking Photography session to learn how we can take fantastic looking photos, without the professional equipment.
From left to right, here are some of the amazing bloggers that I met at the conference. (All are local and we are looking forward to getting together again very soon!) Meghan from Meghan on the Move, Sarah from Happy, Healthy & Fit and Kathy from The Style Ref. Kathy and I are already blogger friends, and reunited!
The session was lead by the fabulous Julie Deily from The Little Kitchen. She has AMAZING photography and let us know that editing is key when sharing great photos. She shared information on great editing software and I even put it to the test that day at lunch!
Darn! I had to delete the original cause of storage space, but would have been cool to show you the before and after! One tip that Julie gave us that speaks directly to this issue is to automatically sync your iPhone photos to your Dropbox account so you never have to worry about deleting images. Good tip!
After lunch, which was catered by the delicious Tijuana Flats, I stepped into a writing workshop which was a lot of fun! I love creative writing and have been meaning to get involved with a writing group, so this was a fun little snippet of what that would be like. I enjoyed it!
There were plenty more sessions after lunch and we also had a chance to mix and mingle with other bloggers and brands and get a professional headshot on site as well. It was a great experience and I took a ton of notes. Which means I have a huge Blog To Do list now!
The ending keynote speaker was Eddie Selover, the organizer and host of PechaKucha Orlando—”an event that features an eclectic mix of creatives and professionals who present in the challenging 20×20 format.” It was a very entertaining presentation!
And for the finale after party, Gigi’s Cupcakes of course! They were featuring their fall flavors and the hot cocoa was my favorite. Featured below was my second favorite, Pumpkin Spice!
(I am horrible at Selfies!)
During the after party, there was also a photo booth set up, where we all got a little silly and dressed up with props.
Some of the other great bloggers I met: Sarah from Choose, Love & Go, Diana from This Imperfect Happiness and Danielle from Fun in the Sun.
I am totally looking forward to putting some of the great things I have learned into action and meeting up with these wonderful ladies again!
