My name is Jane, and I am a 28 year old UCF Graduate, living in Orlando, Florida.
I started blogging for fun on and off several years ago. I’ve always had a passion for writing, and blogging gives me the chance to do so – when I can find the time in between work, working out and being a new mom.
I have been married for just over a year to my best friend, Brett, who I met in college and fell head over heals over. He was a cute, frat boy who was a drummer in a punk rock band, and I just knew I had to have him!
We got married at the beautiful South Seas Island Resort in Captiva, Florida and it was the BEST day of my life!
We have a dog named Winston that we got together back in college, and he has quite the personality.
Until just recently, my wedding day would have been the BEST day of my life.. so I actually just lied earlier.
The NEW BEST day of my life was when my daughter Rylee was born. It was such an incredible moment that Brett and I had the privilege to experience and it brought us closer together than ever.
My blog has definitely taken more of a motherly experiences turn, from my previous genre of fitness and food posts.
Fitness has been a huge part of my life ever since I was very young, playing soccer and then transitioning into dance which became a huge love of mine. I ended up quitting soccer and started dancing full time. Everything from ballet and tap to jazz and hip hop. Dance became my world all the way through high school where joined the dance team and got to perform at pep rallies, football games and national competitions.
I also started working out on my own and grew to love running and lifting weights in my free time. I’ve continued to do so throughout college and still do today. I really enjoy finding new and interesting ways to workout and be active. Whether it be taking a dance class at a new studio, playing a sport, signing up at a new gym or registering in races.
When I discovered the excitement of training and competing in races, I was hooked! I started off with a 5k and gradually worked my way up to farther distances. But my two biggest accomplishments so far, in terms of races, was completing my first (and only as of right now) triathlon.
I love variety in my workout routine, so training for a tri was a great experience. Every day’s training is a bit different and you get such an amazing and well-rounded workout each time. It was such an amazing accomplishment to cross that finish line!
And the other accomplishment that I am very proud of is completing my first half marathon.
I participated in a Disney Princess Half Marathon and was so proud to finish! I really enjoyed training for this as well and pushing myself to the limit to complete in my goal time, which was 2.5 hours!
My life is a whirlwind of excitement now that Rylee is here and I’m learning more and more everyday about how to be a great wife, mother, homeowner, employee and fitness guru. There is always so much to learn and experience and I look forward to everyday I get to do so.
Sharing my thoughts and experiences here on MySqueakySneakers is my ME time. It’s my escape from the craziness of everyday life and a way for me to share my experiences with others as I grow and learn along with my readers and my family.
